Estrella,
Wow, where to begin? Our journey working together has taken so many twists and turns and to think that this time last year you were not even our planner! And even though we did not start out with you, the minute we began working with you we felt instantly at ease. It is hard to overstate how much of a help you were to us throughout this pandemic planning process—always ready to listen, answer our texts, emails and calls with respect, attention to detail and with professionalism.
The pandemic brought on many challenges for all of us yet you kept our hopes alive throughout it all and made our dreams come to life. The day of our wedding, I forgot about the troubles facing the world during this turning point in history. I cherished the moment of walking down the aisle with my father, listening to Father Corona’s powerful sermon and looking into the eyes of the love of my life before God, family and friends.
The church was a dream and although it oddly enough was not our first choice, in the end it turned out to be a better option. The candlelit aisle and soft baby’s breath made for the most perfect, pure atmosphere. Thank you for listening to our wants and wishes and bringing them to life in the most thoughtful and beautifully executed way!
The work you and your team did to bring our “starry night” theme to life was stunning. From the soft baby’s breath clouds, to the blush pink florals to emerald green grapes all made for the “understated elegance” we were looking for. And your idea to add the gold tin stars above us and at our tables made for the perfect “Mexican touch” we were looking for. The fact that we did not have a callejoneada was a distant trouble the second I stepped out of our car to see the international flags waving in the wind and our guests sharing conversation over drinks under the eyelit white umbrellas. The mariachi serenading our arrival made for the most magical welcome.
And how could I forget the Mexican pink smoke that accompanied our grand entrance before dinner! Thank you so much for suggesting this bold addition which only made for a more fun and festive grand entrance. Plus the second grand entrance with the mojigangas and line of hearts made for the perfect “switch” to kick off the hora loca! It was an absolute dream—ALL of it! We even have guests wishing to book Mamutt for their own weddings, birthdays and celebrations.
We could not have done any of this without your kind guidance, patience and assistance. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for sticking with us and the planning even amongst the biggest hurdles brought on by the pandemic. There is a lot to be said about the magic that you can really experience because of a smaller wedding size. San Miguel de Allende has always meant a lot to me and my family but I was really glad to share this charming town with guests from abroad. It truly is a national gem for Mexico and I associate Penzi and the work you and your team do to create magical events part of San Miguel’s unique story.
Guadalupe—we only had the chance to see you from afar but hope that the next time we are in San Miguel we can take you and Estrella out for drinks to thank you in person!
Un abrazo,
Alana, Lico y Gnocchi
